Stealing the Tree

I hit the brakes as hard as I could because of what I saw ahead of me. There were hundreds of Christmas trees falling out of a dump truck, as it rolled on its side. Not sure how this happened, but I knew it wasn't good. Before anyone had called the cops, I got out of my car quickly and put one of those 7 foot Christmas trees on top of my car and drove away. As I pulled away from the scene I called the cops and told them a truck was on its side on Route 37. When I got home with the Christmas tree my children were so delighted to see what I had brought home. Normally we didn't have a Christmas tree because we couldn't afford to get one. We decorated the tree with so many colorful changing lights and an angel. Later on that night, I saw the scene of the accident again on the television. The firefighters grabbed a latter in order to help the truck driver out of the truck.

Stealing Christmas trees off the highway, I love it. You really took the constraints of the exercise and "ran with it." A very productive leap-- making the accident the smallest part of the piece. Your links look great, too.
